CCPIT, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, the largest foreign trade institution in China, was established in May 1952 and comprises VIPS, enterprises and organizations representing the economic and trade sectors in China. www.ccpit.org

KOTRA came into being as the Korea Trade Promotion Corporation, a non-profit governmental organization established June 21, 1962, to pursue the national policy goals of maintaining the trade balance and building a self-reliant economy. For almost four decades, KOTRA has contributed to the development of the Korean economy through various trade promotion activities such as trade information, market research services and business matchmaking. www.KOTRA.or.kr

Bullet blue European Associations of Manufacturers

ANMOPyC, founded in 1982, is a national association of the more than 60 prominent Spanish manufacturers and exporters. It has been a close collaborating entity of the Ministry of Trade and Tourism since 1988 and also an active member of the CECE, Committee for European Construction Equipment, based in Brussels. Its primary objective is to promote its associates all over the world through the intensive search for new markets and to protect its members’ interests. www.anmopyc.es

DGV — Deutscher Giessereiverband. A trade association of the German foundry industry, the 300 foundry members of DGV specialize in making grey-iron, spherolitic-iron, malleable and steel castings for virtually all branches of industry. www.dgv.de/e-index.htm

Federal Association of Foreign Trade in Austria. The approximately 7,800 Austrian trading companies are typically small- or medium-sized and specialize in a particular product and/or geographical market doing import, export and transit trade. One-sixth of Austria’s international trade is conducted with Central and Eastern Europe based on its historic ties to the lands of the former Habsburg Empire. The association’s web site includes a 1,200-plus-member free-access database organized by product or country. www.foreign-trade.at

Fenedex, the Federation for Netherlands Exports. Fenedex is an association of Dutch companies which regard export as a structural activity and which set out to build up positions in foreign markets. The Federation comprises a total of 5,000 Dutch companies, making use of the following Fenedex services:

  • consultancy (from market information to legal or financial advice);
  • exchange of knowledge and experience with other exporters during meetings;
  • courses and seminars about countries and export-related issues;
  • publications (both books and magazines);
  • promotion of interests (relations with embassies; export training;
  • language training);
  • information gathering and exposure to foreign customers (matchmaking).

Pertinent information on these Dutch companies is contained on their web site, www.export.nl. The site also contains an extensive database with links to thousands of other sites, all interfacing directly with Dutch exports.

VDMA — Verband Deutscher Maschinen und Anlagebau e.V. Representing 3,000 members, this non-profit organization of manufacturers has served the German machinery and plant manufacturing industry and the information technology sector for over 100 years. www.vdma.org

WVIB — Wirtschaftsverband Industrieller Unternehmen Baden e.V. A manufacturing trade association founded in 1946, WVIB’s membership consists of 1,000 companies representing several industries: iron and metal processing, mechanical engineering, steel and metal constructors, plastic processing, electrical engineering/electronics, control engineering, precision engineering/optics, medical equipment, toolmakers, surface processing, motor manufacturing industries, wood processing, software development, and biotechnology. www.wvib.de

ZVEI — Zentralverband Elektrotechnik und Elektronikindustrie e.V. The German electrical and electronic manufacturers association represents approximately 1,400 companies. ZVEI promotes the joint economic, technological and environmental policy interests of the German electrical and electronics industry at the national, European and international levels. www.zvei.org
