One of the central reasons most rep companies do not have a business plan is that there is no perceived ROI from spending the time writing one. In fact, for the majority of people that do write them, this is true, since the plan is written, shoved in a drawer and essentially blessed with a good riddance sigh, never to be looked at again. Thus, it is hardly surprising that the standard business plan is losing ground to a nimbler document that is built on bullet points and can be updated as needed with only a few minutes of work or less.
