Earlier this year, a group of MANA manufacturers’ representative members, led by Bernat Riera, created a networking opportunity in the Province of Quebec.
They met for the first time February 12th in order to identify a common interest to create a local chapter.
The result was great. Right after the introductions at Marriot Hotel of Trois-Riviéres QC, they understood the potential of creating this chapter.
Networking comes very often with business opportunities and this is where they all agreed.
The different attendees cover eastern Canada and some the whole country. The majority have extensive experience in industrial supplies, featuring the following line cards: engine silencers, extruded rubbers seals, adhesive fasteners systems, electronic components, industrial equipment, filtration systems, hardware, office and healthcare furniture, electrical specialty tools, automation and electrical wire, cable, security industrial products and janitorial.
Other interests are to source service suppliers (accounting, lawyers) as a group and to inspire the other members of the chapter with the best practices of the group.
They agreed to have three yearly meetings, and just concluded their second meeting.
Six attended and presented their respective lines, discussed practices, negotiations with new principals, business development and succession plans.
MANA CEO/President Charles Cohon and Board of Director member Danny Collis attended the meeting. Charles Cohon made a well-received presentation on “Line-Profitability Analysis.”
They plan to meet again later in the year, either in September or October.
